2026 Greenville-Pickens Area Transportation Study Survey
On behalf of the Greenville-Pickens Area Transportation Study (GPATS), I would like to invite you to take a few minutes to complete this important survey. GPATS is the organization responsible for regional transportation planning within the Greenville and Mauldin-Simpsonville Urbanized Areas, along with areas anticipated to become urban in the next 25 years. The GPATS Study Area includes portions of Anderson, Greenville, Laurens, Pickens, and Spartanburg Counties.
We are currently updating the region's transportation plan, Horizon 2050, and the results of this survey will help us identify which transportation improvements are needed most. Horizon 2050 is the ten-year update to the GPATS Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). It is a 25-year plan for highway, transit, bicycle, and pedestrian projects in the GPATS coverage area. GPATS conducts a small review and update of the LRTP every five years and a major update every 10 years. The LRTP includes a fiscally constrained, prioritized list of transportation projects to be completed over the next 25 years, based on current funding levels. Public involvement is essential for fully understanding a community's transportation vision.
We have selected ETC Institute as our partner for this project. Your participation will ensure residents in your area are well represented. They will compile the survey results, which will be critical for the transportation plan's development.
